Mountain boots on - everyday life off
Hiking in the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve
The Heidi-Alm Falkert is located at around 1,870 metres above sea level in the heart of the Carinthian Alps, in the middle of the core zone of the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. This region is a real jewel of nature - an area that impresses with its gentle, grassy mountain peaks, wide alpine pastures and clear mountain lakes. Unlike rugged high mountain regions, the "Nocken" appear round and soft, making them particularly family-friendly and easily accessible.
The Nockberge Biosphere Reserve stands for the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. Centuries-old alpine farming, lush pastures and intact habitats for animals and plants characterise the landscape. Hikers here experience a unique blend of unspoilt alpine nature and cultural tradition.
Numerous family hiking trails, cosy mountain huts and vantage points from which you can look out over the Carinthian mountain landscape await you around the Falkert. Especially in summer, fragrant mountain meadows beckon, while autumn enchants with its clear air and warm colours.
