That's where the fun begins... and that's where it ends...

Together at the Heidi-Alm

Hiking, walking, biking, swimming, climbing. Here with us, everyone will find something fun to do! To ensure that people, animals and alpine pastures work well together, we have a few rules of behaviour here.

  • Stay on the paths
Please stay on the marked paths and selected routes. This will protect the sensitive nature of the alpine pasture and spare wild animals unnecessary stress.
  • Observe wild animals - at a distance
With a bit of luck, you might spot marmots, deer or other inhabitants of the Nockberge mountains. Please only observe them from a distance and do not disturb their natural habitat.
  • The alpine pasture belongs to the animals in the morning and evening
At dusk, many wild animals are particularly active and sensitive to disturbances. That is why the early morning hours and the evening belong to the animal inhabitants of the mountains.
  • Keep your distance from grazing animals
Whether cows, sheep or horses - grazing animals need peace and respect. Mother cows in particular instinctively protect their calves. No matter how cute they look: Please do not stroke them or get too close.
  • Dogs on a short lead please
Dogs should always be kept on a SHORT lead on the mountain pasture. This protects wildlife and grazing animals and ensures a relaxed atmosphere in the mountains. Give your dogs a wide berth around grazing animals. Mother cows in particular react very sensitively when dogs get too close.
  • Travelling with the right equipment
Sturdy shoes, suitable clothing and a jacket are always a must on the mountain - even if it's summer down in the valley. The weather in the mountains can change quickly.
  • Safety first
When hiking, biking, climbing and on via ferratas, everyone is responsible for having the right protective and safety equipment. Please check your equipment carefully before every tour.
  • Drink enough & fortify yourself
For longer hikes or summit tours, you should pack enough drinks and a small snack. The sun is often stronger on the mountain pasture than you think.
  • Keep an eye on the weather
Please plan your tours according to the weather and time of day. Thunderstorms, fog or drops in temperature can occur surprisingly quickly in the mountains.
  • No open fires in nature
Alpine pastures and stone pine forests are particularly sensitive. Please do not have a campfire or barbecue outside the designated areas.
  • Close gates & fences again
If you open a pasture gate, please close it again afterwards. This will keep the animals where they belong.
  • Not every summit is a selfie spot
Safety always comes before the perfect photo. Please keep a safe distance, especially with children in steep places.
  • Nature is not a souvenir shop
Flowers, plants and small "found objects" may remain on the mountain pasture - so that the next visitors can also enjoy them.

Thank you for your help

Leave only footprints

The Heidi-Alm is a special natural place in the middle of the Carinthian Nockberge Biosphere Park full of little wonders: blooming alpine meadows, rare plants, crystal-clear mountain air and quiet favourite spots in the middle of the Nockberge mountains.

To keep it that way, we ask you to leave nature just as you found it.

You will take home the best memories of your day on the mountain pasture in your heart anyway.
