Climbing on the via ferrata on the Falkert in Carinthia
Adventure, views, adrenalin
Our via ferratas in the Nockberge offer you the opportunity to experience the mountains from a completely new perspective: vertical rocks, exposed passages and breathtaking panoramas!
The Falkert with its rugged south side is a real rarity in the otherwise gentle, grassy Nockberge mountains and is perfect for climbing!
Degree of shrinkage B-C
Marble trail
- Access: 30-minute walk from Falkertsee in the direction of Sonntagstal
- Climbing length: approx. 400 m
- Time required: around 2 hours from Falkertsee
The chosen line is excellently set, is not short of spectacular views and exposed sections and leads almost to the Falkert Spitz summit cross. Nevertheless, the climb can be categorised as B/C. There are a few footholds. The 20 metre long rope bridge is a challenge to overcome and is the highlight of the climb.

Falkensteig
- Access: 30-minute walk from Falkertsee in the direction of Sonntagstal
- Climbing length: approx. 300 m
- Time required: around 2 hours from Falkertsee
From the start, the route leads along a gully to the first intersection (A/B), then via a short traverse up to the end of the crux (C/D). A grassy ledge leads on to a striking stone pine (A/B). Over steeper terrain and a short rock step you reach the wall book (A/B) under an overhang .
This is followed by a traverse to a slab (A/B), which leads into a small niche (B/C). From there, continue exposed to the left over slabs and steps to a short ramp (B/C). Then climb over rock steps into the wall on the gorge side and continue over slabs and ledges to the rope walkway, which crosses the gorge impressively. The exit is then reached. Walk to the summit Falkertspitz approx. 10 minutes
Start in the Sonntagstal valley above the Falkertsee lake
