Cross-country skiing in the Nockberge mountains
Heidi Alm Bergresort not only caters for skiers and snowboarders it is also prepared to accommodate cross-country athletes with two panoramic trails on an alpine plateau.
The start/finish of our 6 km high-altitude trail is at the ski lifts, right above Kinderhotel Schneekönig. Leading over a beautiful sun-bathed slope ("Schweinebichl"), cross-country athletes and winter walkers alike are offered a scenic terrain with marvellous views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
Our second 500 m long cross-country trail lies in a picturesque setting on the lake allowing athletes to leave their traces in pristine snow and relish the splendid views over the Karawanken and Nockberge mountain ranges.
Although Heidi Alm Bergresort enjoys a distinct high elevation location (1,800 - 2,300 m) snow assuredness can not always be guaranteed. So just in case – only 8 km down the valley, the holiday town of Bad Kleinkirchheim offers 3 cross-country ski tracks with over 50 km of trails. The eight kilometer long valley trail is snow-covered from November on.
The cross-country trails at Heidi Alm Bergresort are outlined on the map below:
