Thermal spas

The nearby town of Bad Kleinkirchheim (approx. 20 minutes car drive) offers visitors two thermal spas, the “Römerbad“ adventure pool and the thermal bath St.Kathrein.

Here, the water and wellness experience happens on three levels. In the indoor wellness areathe design and facilities are dominated by the theme of Rome with four saunas, an atrium and a spring water sourced drinking fountain. The outdoor area provides a fluent passage from the bathing level to the sauna garden with thermal water pool and two outdoor saunas. Surrounded by a park-like landscape, the relaxation area offers a magnificent open view of the mountains. Indoor and outdoor areas feature adventure landscapes for children with paddling pool, sailing channel and much more. Amongst the facilities visitors will find stone, pine, steam, infrared and Finnish saunas as well as a beauty and massage area.

St. Kathrein spa

At the St. Kathrein thermal spa any wellness enthusiast will find whatever his heart desires: two outdoor and indoor thermal water pools encourage relaxed swimming. The heat is on and the body will be stimulated: everything gets straightened out in hot whirlpool and different sauna varieties including Finnish, herbal, steam and infrared sauna. Unwind in relaxation rooms, sunbathing lawn and sun deck. Get pampered with massages, beauty and foot treatments as well as ERGOLINE solariums. Your offspring will appreciate the separate area for toddlers.

Bathing holidays in Carinthia

Although the resort’s name carries “lake“ in it, we wouldn’t recommend a splash unless after a sauna visit. Even in summer lake Falkertsee, at an altitude of 1,850 m, doesn’t warm up to temperatures beyond 12 degrees Celsius. However, there’s nothing to keep you from unhindered bathing pleasures, with a number of Carinthian lakes, such as Millstätter See, Ossiacher See, Faaker See and Wörthersee right below you, literally speaking: by car within 30 - 60 minutes.

Cable cars

There are two cable cars included in the Carinthia Card in near vicinity of Heidi Alm Falkert. Families travelling with young kids or grandparents will particularly appreciate having a comfortable and relaxed opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the magnificent views provided during a cable car ride. Maybe your little ones will get a taste of nature whilst breathing in the fresh mountain air and won’t be able to wait to conquer the mountains on their own!

Every summit is possible! We will bring you to them, in a comfortable way by cable car up to 2.100 m above sea level, into the heart of the national park Nockberge or to the Kaiserburg. Get to know the fascinating world of this amazing landscape with flowering alpine meadows and whistling marmots. Turracherhöhe Panoramic Cable Car

By cable car from lake Turracher See up to mountain pasture Panoramaalm at 2,000 m above sea level and enjoy the great view to the lakes of Turracher Höhe. Rest at the new “Nocky’s Almzeit” and experience moments of joy for adults and children. Golf in Carinthia

Golf lovers can enjoy a round of golf on the 18-hole golf course Bad Kleinkirchheim-Reichenau located nearby at the foot of Falkert. Just call the golf club (04275/594) for tee times on the 18-hole facility (SSS 72). Cycling & mountain biking

Carinthia is a popular cycling destination and the choice of tours in the Nockberge Mountains in particular will fulfil every mountain and road biker’s dream. Enjoy the unique experience of demanding freeride tours taking you up to the summits at more than 2,000 metres along natural tracks. Advice for choosing the right equipment:
Ski boots are normally the first and most important piece of equipment that a skier will buy. Your feet should be measured and the shape of your foot taken into consideration. The ski boots should always be tested on the slope, while skiing (no rubbing spots, painless skiing, ...).
